Beloved Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend, and a “One of a Kind Person”, Roy “Okie” Oscar Rodriguez, 47, of Alpine, Texas, passed away on April 16th, 2018.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, April 21st, 2018 at Alpine First Assembly of God with Paster Suzano Carillo, Jr. officiating. Burial followed at Holy Angles Cemetery.
Those honoring Okie by serving as pallbearers where: Michael Rodriguez, John Garcia, Ralph Morales, Glenny Crihfield, Joel Villanuvea, Ralph Garcia, Dustin Garza, and Kervin Mott.
Honorary pallbearer was Oscar Alaniz of Deli Rio, Texas.
Okie as his friends and family called him was born in Alpine, Texas on August 2, 1970 to Rodolfo Rodriguez and Elva Ramos Rodriguez, Okie attend school in Fort Stockton, Texas.
During the working years of Okie, he worked in the oilfields of West Texas, who knew how to fix everything and was a true jack of all trades. He enjoyed working on cars, painting, construction and electrical work. Okie was a strong, serious, loving, kind and caring person who provided for his family, that never backed down from any commitment that he committed to.
Okie loved to attend motorcycle rallies with his father, in Del Rio and various places. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends at the St. Patrick Rally in Del Rio, as well as Lorina’s.
Okie is preceded in death by his grandparents; Juan and Jesusita Ramos and Manuel and Feliz Rodriguez and his uncles Lionel Ramos, Alvaro Ramos and Ervay Ramos.
Okie is survived by his two children, daughter Gabriella A. Rodriguez and husband Joel Villanueva of Alpine, son Jonathan Roy Rodriguez of Fort Stockton; his mother Elva (Ramos) Rodriguez of Alpine; his father Rodolfo Rodriguez of Fort Stockton; his brother Michael Anthony Rodriguez of Fort Stockton; Okie’s girlfriend Letty Fierro of Alpine; his two grandchildren Elizardo Roy Villanueva of Alpine, and Illyanna Anahi Rodriguez of Fort Stockton; his niece Kheraghan Rodriguez of Pecos, his beloved uncle Raul Ramos of Alpine, his aunts Celia Vasquez of Del Rio, and Florinda Ramos of San Antonio and, as well as many other family members and beloved friends.
Okie is further survived by his beloved fur child Cinnamon which was his constant companion and will truly miss her rides on the motorcycle, and Okie’s grand fur child Zoe.
