Margaret Martinez

Margaret R. Martinez, 99, of Marfa, Texas, passed away on August 29, 2022 in Marfa, Texas.

Praying of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Monday, September 5, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marfa, Texas with Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with Father Victorino Loresca officiating with interment to follow at Merced Cemetery in Marfa, Texas.

Margaret was born in Marfa, Texas on November 15, 1922, to William and Esther Rice.  She married Luis Martinez, Jr.  She was a homemaker.

She is survived by sons Ben Louis (Maria) Martinez, Oscar (Mary Lou) Martinez, Robert (Marion) Martinez, Samuel (Michelle) Martinez; daughters Veronica (Michael) Campbell, Margie (Alonso) Mendoza; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Luis Martinez, Jr., daughter Monica M. Cantu, and son Augustin R. Martinez.

Pallbearers:  Louis A. Martinez, Benjamin Martinez, Daniel Mendoza, Christian Campbell, Marcus Nunez, and Benjamin P. Martinez.
