Amelia Dutchover

April 26, 1928 — March 9, 2019

Mrs. Amelia (Bentley) Dutchover, lifelong resident of Jeff Davis County, Fort Davis, Texas entered eternal life on Saturday, March 9th, 2019 at Big Bend Regional Medical Center in Alpine, Texas surrounded by her loving family, she was 90.
Mrs. Dutchover was born on April 26th, 1928 in Fort Davis, Texas to George Bentley, Sr. and Angelita (Bonilla) Bentley. Mrs. Dutchover married the love of her life Edward M. Dutchover, Sr. in 1944 and they spend 63 wonderful years together. She worked for over 30 years as a cook for Rancho Del Cielo, in Kent, Texas.
Praying of the Most Holy Rosary was held on Tuesday, March 12th, 2019 followed by Mass of Christian burial. Mrs. Dutchover was laid to rest next to her husband in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Fort Davis, Texas.
Those serving as pallbearers were: James Dutchover, Manny Dutchover, Tare Dutchover, Mark Sanchez, Ryan Cantwell, Michael Olivas, Pat Olivas, and Neil Glidewell.
Mrs. Dutchover was a kind and caring person. She would often be found cooking away in her kitchen preparing delicious food to be taken to her family members, as well as having an open heart to care for those that might be in need, as well as serving as a Eucharistic minister for St. Joseph Catholic Church, as well as a member of the Charity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Mrs. Dutchover always saw the good in others, and loved the beautiful colorful flowers that God created on earth. She would often refer to the Dolly Parton song "Coat of Many Colors" as a mantra in life. She loved her family with all her heart, and enjoyed traveling with them, as well as stopping at many plant nurseries to see the newest arrival of flowers and plants. She loved her many chickens, and would enjoy spending time with family in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Preceding Mrs. Dutchover in death, are her parents, her husband Edward Dutchover, Sr., her brothers George Bentley, and Eliseo Bentley, and one granddaughter Marisa Sanchez.
Those left to honor and cherish her wonderful memory are her two sons: Edward Dutchover and wife Mary, and Elias Dutchover and wife Maria all of Fort Davis; her three daughters Diana Dutchover Olivas and husband Pat, Mary Lou Dutchover, and Emma Cantwell all of Fort Davis. Her grandchildren Kimberlee A. Dutchover and husband Jordan Brown of Liberty Hill, Trae Dutchover and wife Vera J. of Fort Davis, Patrick Olivas of Fort Davis, Misty Olivas of Midland, Michael Olivas and wife Amber of Midland, Megan DeNae Olivas and husband Bryan Alvarado of San Angelo, Mark Sanchez and wife Lisa M. of Fort Davis, Lori Sanchez and husband Adam Keith of Fort Davis, Ryan Cantwell and wife Jennifer of Las Vegas, Nevada, Manny Dutchover, James Dutchover, and Arlene Guerrero and husband Gustavo. Great grandchildren Joseph Dutchover of Fort Davis, Braeden Dutchover of Fort Davis, Mandy Olivas of Midland, Amelia Valles of Midland, Aiden Olivas of Midland, Bryson Olivas of Midland, Faith Martinez of Midland, Hailey Martinez of Midland, Noah Martinez of Midland, Mariah Sanchez of Fort Davis, Vincent Sanchez of Fort Davis, Avery Sanchez of Fort Davis, Michael Sanchez of Fort Davis, Caleb Sanchez of Fort Davis, Uri Sanchez of Fort Davis, Taylor Sanchez of Fort Davis, Everett Keith of Fort Davis, Matthew Keith of Fort Davis, Riley Cantwell of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ryder Cantwell of Las Vegas, Nevada, Makayla Sanchez, Nathan Sanchez and wife Claudia, Stephanie Dutchover, Elise Dutchover, Haley Dutchover, Neil Glidewell and wife Jessalyn, Adrian Glidewell and wife Keisha Octupal, Tyler John Glidewell, Juliet Guerrero, Kylie Glidewell and Lance Rose Glidewell. Great great grandchildren Arron, Lilly, Emily, Jalyn Lujan, and Amanda Nicole Rose. Her brother Joe Bentley, Sr. of Fort Davis, her two sisters Manuela Granado of Fort Davis, and Consuelo Leyva of Fort Davis. Her sister-in-law Helen Bentley also of Fort Davis, numores nieces and nephews. Her special friends Minister Greg and Sister Myra Meads of Fort Davis, and her many friends.
The Dutchover family has entrusted Alpine Memorial Funeral Home with arrangements.
