Anita Abelina Hernandez a lifelong resident of Marfa, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 24, 2017, she was 80.
Anita was born on September 5, 1937 to Marciano Hernandez, and Concepcion Ricon Hernandez in Marfa, Texas.
Rosary for Anita will be recited on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church and Mass of Christian Burial will follow the rosary, with Father Beto Lopez serving as Celebrant. Inurnment will follow at La Merced Cemetery in Marfa, Texas.
Anita, was like a second Mother to many of her nieces and nephews, always there to support them in their extracurricular activities. Anita worked for years as a cook at Mando's Restaurant, where she loved to cook for friends, and new friends that she met as they traveled through Marfa.
Anita, also enjoyed cooking for her own family for birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. As well as she enjoyed shopping at the local Dollar Store, and driving around town with her beloved pets.
Anita is proceeded in death by her parents, her sisters; Enriqueta Hernandez, Helen H. Gonzalez, Josephina H. Lujan, Ofelia H. Sotelo, Esperanza Ramirez, and her two brothers; Alfredo Hernandez, and Kilo Hernandez.
Left to cherish her memory is her sister Alice H. Rivera of Marfa, Texas and several nieces, and nephews, as well as her beloved friends.
