Carolyn Milder

December 8, 1945 — November 16, 2018

Our Wife, Mother, and Friend, Carolyn Milder was called home the morning of November 16, 2018.

Carolyn was born in Alpine, Texas to Cecil and Eva Duncan. She spent her formative years with her family moving from one duty assignment to another as a result of her Father's service in the United States Air Force. These travels nurtured her love of light, color, and texture. She graduated in 1964 from Waco High School where she excelled at Choir and Journalism. It was her time in Waco where she'd meet the love of her life, Joe Milder. Carolyn and Joe were married in El Campo, Texas later that year.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 21st, 2018 at 10:00 am at Alpine Memorial Funeral Home Geeslin Chapel.
She had been a constant resident of Alpine since 1972. After returning to Alpine, she earned a BFA from Sul Ross State University. She enjoyed Oil and Watercolor painting, Pottery, and Cake Decorating. Cake Decorating appealed to her sense of creativity and how fleeting art can be. She once said, "No two cakes will ever be the same" and so too there will only ever be one of her.
Carolyn was preceded in death by: her parents Cecil H and Eva K Duncan, a son Joseph Paul Milder Jr., and a granddaughter Jackie O Umoru.
She is survived by her husband Joseph P Milder of Alpine. One sister Jackie and Rick Sohl of Nogal, New Mexico. One Daughter Julie and Charles Worden of Alpine. Two Sons, David C and Donna Duncan of Denton, Tx and Cecil R Milder of Alpine. Eleven Grandchildren: Stephanie Lockwood, David O Duncan, Cari Jo Villanueva, Aaron G Tuttlebee, Cassandra Gilstrap, Zachary J Duncan, Cecil D Milder, Richard A Milder, Ezekiel D Duncan, Harley D Milder and six great grandchildren Douglas Umoru, Chloe M Villanueva, Olivia Duncan, Connor Duncan, R J Milder, and Chloe L Milder.
Additionally, she leaves behind an entire community of friends and foes, advocates and detractors; those she loved and those who loved her.
Honorary Pall Bearers: Julie Worden, Donna Duncan, Katy Elms, Dian Raun, and Connie White.

The Milder family has entrusted Alpine Memorial Funeral Home with arrangements.
