Cruz Muniz

Cruz H. Muniz, 76, of Alpine, passed away January 2, 2015 at Big Bend Regional Medical Center.

Rosary service will be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church at 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace, Thursday, January 8, 2015. Burial service will follow at the Holy Angels cemetery. Deacon Paul Lister will officiate. Alpine Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

he was born May 29, 1938 in Study Butte, Texas to Pedro Perez Muniz and Celestina Huerta Muniz. he married Juanita Garcia Muniz on June 8, 1958 in Alpine, Texas. Cruz dedicated 30 years of his life working in road construction throughout Texas.

Cruz is survived by his wife of 56 years, Juanita Muniz of Alpine, his children: daughter, Annabel Muniz Wiesman and husband Darrel of Midland, sons, Cruz Muniz, Jr. of Alpine and Michael Muniz of Midland. He is also survived by his sister Esequela Muniz Arispe of Alpine and his brothers, Celestino Muniz of Plainview, Paul Muniz of Artesia, NM, Joel Muniz and Juan Muniz of Alpine and six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be given to the Diabetes Foundation.
