Daniel G. DeAnda, 78, from Presidio, Texas passed away in the comfort of his longtime home on February 1, 2020. one of four children to Isidoro and Maria DeAnda esteemed and long-term residents of Presidio and owners of DeAnda's Grocery Store. Daniel graduated Presidio High School in 1960, the same year he led the basketball team to a District Championship. He married Aracely Aguirre from Ojinaga, Chihuahua in 1964. Their early years of marriage were spent in Whittier California, birthplace of their four children and where he was a barber. in 1972, he and his family returned to his hometown of Presidio where be took on the family business DeAnda's Grocery Store and later went on to own Barn Auto Parts. During his lifetime in Presidio he was a 12-year member of the Presidio, ISD School Board of Trustees, was awarded Presidio Citizen of the Year, and was a longtime supporter of youth and adult sport activities. Some of his proudest achievements were leading the Presidio Little League to the State Championship in 1983 and in 2008 the Presidio Little League Baseball Park was renamed after him. He will be remembered by his siblings Zulema, Yolanda, and Arturo. As well as his wife of 55 years Aracely, his children Yvette, Daniel, David and Marcus. Grandchildren Hector, Danielle, Isaac, Paula, Camila, and Isabella. Great grandchildren Amani, Emilio, Julian, Daniel, Mayah, Maylah, and of course Blu his beloved four-legged companion.
Rosary service was held at 10:00 a.m., at Santa Teresa de Jesus Catholic Church in Presidio on Tuesday, February 11, 2020. Mass of Christian Burial followed. Burial was at the Desert Hills Cemetery. Fr. Mike Alcuino was the celebrant.
