Frank Nunez

Marfa, Texas

Frank Sotelo Nunez (Chiquitin) age 86 of Marfa, Texas passed away at his residence on January 22, 2025. Chiquitin was born in Marfa, Texas to Juan Nunez Sr. and Genoveva S. Nunez on July 30, 1938.

Chiquitin attended school at the Blackwell School in Marfa, Texas. He then left and enlisted in the U.S. Army and was in the Military Police. Once discharged from the U.S. Army he came home and started his career in construction where he was a Construction Supervisor for many years. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time and watching his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends hanging out at Roy Hartnett’s Garage.

He is preceded in death by his parents Juan Nunez, Sr. and Genoveva S. Nunez, his brothers Juan Nunez, Jr., Robert Lee Nunez, and sister Josephina Nunez Madrid. He is survived by his loving sister Helen Calderon and brother Mike Nunez. He is also survived by his children Frank Nunez, Jr., Joann Nunez Rincon, Carlos Nunez, Larry Nunez, Lisa Nunez Aguilera, Jacob Nunez and Michael Lee Nunez and many beloved nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Chiquitin was also blessed to have 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Our family would like to thank our Tia Helen and her family for taking care of our father while he lived in Marfa, Texas. We would also like to thank everyone who would stop by to visit, bring food and spend time with our father.

Our family would like to invite you to join us in honoring our father at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marfa, Texas on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
