Ida Zubiate

Ida Ramirez Zubiate was born June 10, 1938 and left this earth October 5, 2013 to be with the Lord Jesus Christ. Ida dedicated her life to her husband Richard Zubiate for 53 years. She was a loving and dedicated mother to Hope, Debra, Paul, and Peter. In her youth, Ida had a brush of fame through a standin part in the famous movie Giant. As an adult, she extended her mothering skills as a nanny for the Wayland family. She cared for 2nd Lt. USMC Patrick Trevor Wayland Meagan Wayland, and Lisa Wayland and considered them as family.

She loved receiving fresh flowers and adorning herself with the frangrance of perfume. She had a special appreciation for fine jewelry. Her home was filled with photos of family and friends, beautiful furnishings made by her husand and sons, and homemade treasurers of her grandchildren. Her bible was well worn, her prayer journal was full, and her faith and joy in God were vibrant. If she knew you, you were in her prayers.

She was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Esperanza Ramirez and her sister Grace Stanley. Surviving family members include her husband Richard, daughter Hope Marie Espinosa husband Daniel, Debra Ann Carlin husband Bruce, Paul Richard Zubiate wife Jennifer, and Peter Thomas Zubiate wife Katie, and 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She will have viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. and service will begin at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 10, at First Christian Church in Marfa, Texas. Alpine Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
