Isabel H. Garcia, of Fort Davis, Texas closed her eyes to her earthly home, and opened her eyes to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Big Bend Regional Medical Center in Alpine, Texas, she was 88.
Isabel's given name was Elizabeth meaning "Pledged to God" was born on March 24, 1929 to Bill Hartnet and Beatrice Dutchover Hartnet. She attended St. Mary's School in Marfa, Texas. She married the love of her life Jose Garcia, and was married to him for 67 years.
Rosary for Isabel was recited on Tuesday, September 12th, 2017 at 10:00 am with Mass of Christian Burial Following at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Davis, Texas, with rosary and Mass of Christian burial being celebrated by Father Hector Chicas. Burial followed at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Fort Davis, Texas.
Isabel was truly "Pledged to God," she was a steadfast and devoted Catholic who was called up often to pray the Rosary for family and friends who needed the help of Jesus and the Blessed Mother. Isabel enjoyed sewing, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and sitting underneath the pecan true in her front yard with her husband Jose.
Isabel is preceded in death by her parents: Bill and Beatrice Heartnet, and one son William "Billy" Garcia.
Those left to honor and cherish the life of Isabel are: her husband of 67 years Jose Garcia; two sons; Joe Garcia and wife Blasa, and Robert Garcia and wife Emelda. Grandchildren: Bill Garcia, Joe Garcia, Linda Garcia, Lizzie Garcia, Erica Garcia, Omar Garcia, and Christopher Garcia. Great grandchildren: Billy Garcia, Crystal Garcia, Jaylon Abiles, Bella Ramirez, Joslyn Garcia, Savanna Torres, Keidan Garcia, and Kayli M. Garcia, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.
