James Thomas (Jim) Lee died in his Alpine, Texas home, May 10, 2016. He was born May 21, 1949, in Omak, Washington, to Bernice C. Lee and Aloha LaFayette Bugg. He spent his life inspiring others.
He will lie in repose at the First Assembly of God in Alpine, Texas, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 20, 2016. First Assembly is located across the street from Alpine High School, where Mr. Lee taught for nine years. Students and friends are encouraged to write heir well wishes and goodbyes on the coffin. There will be an additional public viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. that evening at First Assembly of God. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Kokernot Field. Interment will be at the Elm Grove Cemetery. Alpine Memorial Funeral Home is overseeing the arrangements.
Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Polly Shappley Ponds, and a brother, Ronald G. Lee. He is survived by his brothers Robert G. Lee and Richard n. Lee, his sister, Nola Cucheran, three sons, Kirk T. Lee, Zachary J. Lee, and Andrew C. Lee, and five grandchildren.
Throughout his life, Mr. Lee brought humor and kindness into the lives of countless people. Many of those people called him Mr. Lee, some called him Jim, and three called him Dad. But nobody called him Shirley.
