In loving memory of Jessie Mae McClellan, who passed away on July 25, 2024 in San Angelo, Texas. Jessie was born March 14, 1940 to Jesse and Ollie Mae McDonald in her beloved hometown of Sanderson, Texas. Jessie was the 2nd oldest of 3 siblings with her brother, Roland McDonald, and her sister, Darleen Wright.
Jessie graduated high school in Sanderson and then attended Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas where she met the love of her life, Reid McClellan. Jessie and Reid both graduated college and were married on February 23, 1963 in Sanderson, Texas. Jessie then taught school in Kermit, Texas for one year while Reid worked for the Texas Department of Transportation before moving back to their forever hometown of Sanderson, Texas.
Jessie dedicated 38 years of her life to shaping young minds as a school teacher at Terrell County ISD before gracefully retiring. Her passion for teaching touched the lives of many students who remember her with gratitude and respect. Jessie was a warm and family-oriented individual who found the greatest joy in spending time with her loved ones. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her, and she radiated love and kindness in everything she did. She enjoyed watching crime series, engaging in word search puzzles, and reading.
Jessie will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her loving children; Mike and his wife Shea McClellan, cherished granddaughter; Elizabeth Mae McClellan, adored grandson Cameron and great-grandson Blayze Foote, brother; Roland McDonald and his wife Harriett, sister; Darleen Wright as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
She is now reunited in Heaven with the love of her life Reid McClellan and cherished son Robley McClellan, and her loving parents, Jesse and Ollie McDonald.
The services to honor Jessie's life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024. A visitation will take place at the Sanderson High School Auditorium from 10:00 AM and followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held at Cedar Oak Cemetery in Sanderson, Texas at 12:30 PM.
Jessie's legacy of love and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in peace knowing she was cherished and adored by so many.
