Jose Hernandez Camarena

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jose Hernandez Camarena. Born on September 8, 1941, in El Venado, Jalisco, Mexico.  Jose peacefully departed this world on May 12, 2024. He is survived by his beloved sons, Daniel Hernandez Ruiz (Naomi), Joseph Hernandez Ruiz (Claudia), Jose “Chuy” Hernandez, and Diego Serrano (Yvonne) and numerous grandchildren.   

He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Maria Santos Ruiz.  He was the last one to pass from his ten brothers and sisters.   

A man of integrity and kindness, Jose's memory will be cherished by his family and friends. His legacy of love and devotion will forever live on through those he touched during his time on earth.  He was a self-taught man.  He was a farmer, truck driver, and gardener.  He loved taking care of his animals around his farm, mechanical work, and enjoyed building things.  He was always busy.

A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate Jose's life will be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church on May 17, 2024, at 11:00 am. This will serve as an opportunity for all those who knew Jose to come together, pay their respects, and bid a final farewell to a truly exceptional individual.

In this time of mourning, we find solace in the memories shared, the laughter had, and the love given. May Jose Hernandez Camarena rest in eternal peace.
