Jose "Freak" Chavarria

Sadly, on November 7, 2023, we bid farewell to Jose Chavarria, a beloved member of the community of Alpine, Texas. Born on November 7, 1946, in Marathon, Texas, Jose was the son of Padlo and Augustina Chavarria. He passed away on his 77th birthday following a peaceful and natural end to his journey.

In addition to his professional achievements, he was a combat U. S. Marine and mechanic. Jose cherished the importance of family and community. Jose's warm and generous spirit touched the lives of those around him, making him a cherished friend and companion.

To honor and remember Jose Chavarria, a visitation will be held at Alpine Memorial Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on November 16, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. with Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m.  A funeral service will be held on November 17, 2023, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Alpine, Texas. Family, friends, and members of the community are invited to join in celebrating his life, sharing stories, and offering solace during this difficult time.

While we mourn the loss of Jose, we are grateful for the memories he leaves behind and the impact he made on our lives. As we gather to remember his laughter, kindness, and unwavering service to others, let us find solace in the knowledge that he will forever remain in our hearts.

Rest in peace, Jose Chavarria. May your soul find eternal serenity in the hands of the Divine.
