Josefina Iniguez, affectionately known as "Nini", was a radiant soul whose life unfolded from a humble beginning on April 10, 1941, in Terlingua, Texas. She departed this world on December 16, 2024, in Odessa, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever be cherished by her family and friends.

A figure of strength and resilience, Josefina dedicated herself to her career, working diligently at the Sunshine House and later at the Texas A&M Extension office. Her unwavering spirit and determination shone brightly through her accomplishments. In her academic pursuits, she completed her GED and took several college courses, exemplifying her commitment to learning and personal growth.

Josefina's heart overflowed with kindness, as evidenced by her countless acts of generosity—particularly her ceaseless preparation of coffee for friends and family, an act she undertook with grace and expectation of nothing in return. Those cherished moments over steaming cups became treasured memories, binding her family and friends in shared laughter and stories.

Her passions extended beyond work and education; Josefina found joy in cooking, solving word find puzzles, sewing, and engaging with her favorite TV shows, including "Yellowstone" and "Survivor." Each of these hobbies highlighted her vibrant personality and creative spirit.

Josefina leaves behind a loving family, including her daughter Teresa Iniguez of Gardendale, Texas; her sons, Jose Iniguez and wife Lupita of Alpine, Texas, and Joaquin Iniguez and wife Barbara of Odessa, Texas. Grandchildren Audrey and husband Mikey Debleeker, Joey Jr., Jachin, Jeshua, Ruben Talamantez, Zach, Annalisa, and Ritchie, along with great-grandchildren Aiyana and Jonah, and numerous nieces and nephews, will all carry her memory in their hearts.

In addition to her beloved family, her brother Alfonso Chavez, Sr. stands among those who remember her with deep affection. Josefina was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Juan C. Iniguez, who will be lovingly reunited with her in eternal rest.

The community is invited to honor Josefina's life and legacy at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Alpine, Texas, where visitation will be held on December 23, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 9:30 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 10:00 AM, leading to interment at Holy Angels Cemetery at 11:15 AM.

Pallbearers for the services will be Jachin Iniguez, Joey Iniguez, Jr., Mikey Debleecker, Gabriel Roybal, Zach Iniguez and Ruben Talamantez. Honorary pallbearers are Jeshua Iniguez, Jonah Iniguez and Ritchie Iniguez.

Josefina Iniguez, also known as "Tia Nini" to so many, will be eternally remembered not only as a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister but as a beacon of light whose spirit brought joy and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
