Justina Chavarria

Justina Silvas Chavarria, 102, lifetime resident of Alpine, passed away at the Fort Stockton Nursing Center on Monday December 16, 2013.

Visitation will be held from 11a.m. to 3p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Geeslin Chapel. Rosary service will follow at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Funeral Mass service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, December 20 at Our Lady of Peace and burial will follow at the Holy Angels cemetery. Alpine Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Chavarria was born in Terlingua, Texas on September 26, 1911 to Leandro and Maria Silvas. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughters, Rita C. Ingram of Amarillo and Sue S. Smith of Alpine. She is also survived by her sons, Jose Chavarria and Daniel Celaya both of Alpine, two grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.
