Leisha Delvalle Walker, 50, of Fort Davis, Texas, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at the Big Bend Regional Hospital in Alpine, Texas. A memorial will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016, at 11 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Weinert, Texas. Leisha's ashes will be released to the wind on Elliot Barker Trail, located just outside Angel Fire, New Mexico.
Leisha was born in St. Petersburg, Florida on November 15, 1965, and was almost immediately adopted by Carl "Lit" & Charlene Delvalle. She graduated from East Bay High School in Gibsonton, Florida. Leisha met husband of 29 years, Jerry Don Walker, at the Allsups in Rule, Texas. Leisha was a clerk and Jerry Don was a deputy with the Haskell County Sheriff's Office. They were wed, on August 1, 1987, at the First Baptist Church in Weinert, Texas.
Leisha is survived by her husand, Jerry Don Walker; her mother, Charlene Cunningham Delvalle, of Haskell, Texas; her father, Carl "Lit Delvalle, of Florida, and his wife Donna; and her three brothers; Eddie Keith and Bruce Delvalle.
Instead of flowers, it is asked that people make a donation ,in Leisha's name, to their local animal shelter, as Leisha loved animals and she rescued several dogs and cats during her short life.
