Manuel Galindo Sanchez, 89, longtime resident of Alpine, passed away at his residence on Monday, August 22, 2016.
Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2016 at Our Lady of Peace and Military graveside service will follow at Holy Angels cemetery. Alpine Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sanchez was born in Alpine, Texas on May 27, 1927 to Pepe and Paz Sanchez. He was a US Army WWII veteran. He was a hard worker, loved to dance with his wife, was a huge supporter of his grandchildren and of Alpine Buck football and baseball as well as the Fort Davis Indians. He enjoyed fellowshipping with his compadres at the trees and was a well -respected and noble man. He was a truck driver working for McLane and Ben E. Keith. He was a member of the Alpine VFW and loved Alpine's July 4th parades.
He is survived by daughters; Marie Muñiz of Alpine, Norma Henggler of Sikeston, Mo., Esther Cordova of Alpine, Lucy Martinez of Fort Stockton, Julie Wise of Alpine, sons; Manuel (Billy) Sanchez of Alpine and Edward Sanchez of Alpine, sixteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
