Mario Gonzales

Mario Gonzales, 62, of Marathon, Texas passed away on June 1, 2023, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas.  Mario was born on February 14, 1961, to Antonio and Juana Gonzales in Alpine, Texas.

Mario lived in New York for a short time and then came back to Marathon to be with his father.  Mario was the companion of Mary Mather for 27 years.  He worked at the Gage Hotel in Marathon for 30+ years.

He was a father to Zach Gonzales and Casey Gonzales; grandfather to Savanna Pinedo (deceased), Mackenzie Pinedo, Isiah Fierro, and Dom Fierro.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Alpine Memorial Funeral Home Memorial Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Marathon Cemetery in Marathon, Texas.

The pallbearers are Isiah Fierro, Dom Fierro, Brian Russell, Jason Taylor, Gilbert Chavez, and Isaac Briones.  Honorary pallbearers are Joe Rodriguez, Mackenzie Pinedo, and JP Bryan.

He was loved and will be missed by many.
