Martin Lee MartyTidwell, Jr., 59, passed away at Presidio High School on April 8, 2013, where he was a Special Ed teacher.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, at Santa Teresa Parish Hall in Presidio. Burial followed at the Desert Hills cemetery. Alpine Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He was born May 20, 1953 in Corpus Christi, Texas and grew up in Sinton, Texas where he was quarterback of the Sinton Pirates football team. He has many tropies in track and field and basketball. He also earned a chess championship trophy from Texas Tech University. Marty graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Mo and holds a Masters Degre from Grace College and Seminary in Winona Lake, In. He worked for Marathon Oil Co in Iraan, Texas for many years as an engineering technician. He has been a Specion Ed teacher in Presidio, Tx for the last 10 years. Marty played guitar in several bands to include the Resonators of West Texas.
He is survived by his wife Cruz Tidwell of Presidio, son Aaron Tidwell and wife Michelle of Sioux City, Iowa, son Jonathan Tidwell and wife Shanna of Iraan, Tx., daughter Sarah Tidwell of Bright, Indiana, and stepsons Brian and Elier of Presidio and Ramon of Chihuahua City, Mexico, his mother Joy Tidwell of San Angelo, Tx, his sister Melodie and husband Doug Graham, his nephew Ben Graham, nieces Evelyn and Grace Graham, and six grandchilden. He was preceded in death by his father Martin Lee Tidwell, Sr. in 2008.
