Mauricio Wilo Cordova, Sr. lifetime resident of Alpine passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be held at the Geeslin Chapel, Wednesday, March 5, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 7 at Our Lady of Peace with Fr. Mike Alcuino officiating. Military graveside service will follow at the Holy Angels cemetery. Alpine Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cordova was born in Terlingua, Texas on November 2, 1924 to Hilario and Trinidad Cordova. He was the last of his siblings of ten. He had worked as a clerk for the Thriftway store for several years. He was an avid reader and he especially enjoyed to read the Odessa American newspaper. He was a WWII,US Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife Cindy Cordova, a daughter Diana Ramos, sons Larry and Lisa Cordova, Mauricio Jr. and Laura Cordova of Alpine and Oscar and Elsa Cordova of Corinth, Texas. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
