Mirna Borunda

Mirna Fabiola Borunda, 33, of Pecos, Texas passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. Mirna was born on December 5 ^th , 1989, to Miguel Borunda and Irma Borunda in Chihuahua, CH Mexico. She attended Marfa High School and Sul Ross State University. After graduating she became a Spanish teacher at Marfa high school in Marfa Tx, and then went on to Pecos High School, in Pecos, Texas which she settles in. She was married to Jaime Estrada and mother of Blake Reed. Sisters Flor and Gaby Borunda. Brother Miguel Angel. Nephews were Christian, Uriel, Noah, and Alondra on her sister Flor’s side and Diego, Damia, Dianyra, and Dayana on her sister Gaby’s side. Brother in law Juan Ortiz.

Along with Teaching at Pecos High school she led the Spanish club. She loved her students and club members deeply and always had a smile on her face. Anyone who needed anything she was there no matter what. Everything she did, she did with passion and with good intentions. Her heart was beautiful, and her love was pure. Last year she started her journey to getting her master’s degree at Lamar University. She was due to graduate this August and was going to continue with her dream of being a college professor, even through everything she went through she still did homework and worried about everyone else. Our Father in heaven gained a beautiful person.

Mirna Fabiola Borunda’s service will be held at the Saint Mary’s Catholic church at 211 W San Antonio Street, Marfa Texas 79843. The viewing\visitation will be held at 9 am following the rosary at 10 am, and Mass at 11 am on Tuesday June 20, 2023. ​
