Richard R. Williams, 71, of Marfa, passed away in El Paso, Texas on Saturday, August 27, 2016.
Richard was born in Marfa to Candelaria and Guadalupe B. Williams on January 5, 1945.
He attended school in Tracy, California as well as Blackwell Elementary in Marfa and graduated in 1961 from Marfa High School.
Richard retired from Northrop Grumman in Sunnyvale, California after 38 years of service and returned to Marfa ten years ago. He served as Board member for Blackwell School Alliance and Marfa Presidio County Museum.
Richard enjoyed helping others and he would volunteer to do yard work where needed. His knowledge of Computer Science often brought visitors to his door asking him to restore old photos, digitize music, or repair computers.
Richard is survived by his wife, Celia V. Williams, brother, Daniel R. Williams from Stockton, California, sisters, Aida W. Tarin and Jessi W. Silva both of Marfa, his faithful dog Coco, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe B. and Candelaria Williams.
Memorial Mass service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marfa.
