Susan Logan

March 21, 1948 — February 17, 2019

Susan Carlon Logan 70 of Alpine, Texas, closed her eyes to her earthly home on February 17th, 2019 surrounded by her beloved friends.

Carlon was born on March 21st, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio to Samuel Richard Amspoker and Muriel Lee (Stiles) Amspoker.

A celebration of life for Carlon will be held on Friday, March 15th, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Alpine Memorial Funeral Home.

She took each day in stride, never really complaining, instead always asking what she could do for others. She fought a brave and strong battle, filled with dignity and grace to the end. A beautiful woman, inside and out, she was a friend to all, known to both two legged friends and four legged friends with her nurturing, supportive and caring way. Carlon was always authentic with people, saying what needed to be said because it was good for the relationship and for the soul, as unfinished business causes pain and having peace is essential for a healthy and joyful life.

Carlon was never one to judge or force her opinions on anyone but offered valuable and truthful advice that will truly be missed. She kept her sense of humor throughout, was loving, was real, and laid a strong foundation for her family and friends to stand on.

Her magnetic smile and brilliantly lit eyes will be missed by all who knew her, yet her spirit lives on through all who knew and loved her. Her strong will to stay was only bested be her desire to answer the call from God.

Carlon in preceded in death by her beloved parents, and her husband, Dr. Dan Logan.

Those left to honor and cherish the wonderful memory of Carlon are her sons: Russell Collins and wife Debra of Dallas, Texas, Matthew Reid of Florida, step-son Blake Logan of Dallas, Texas, and one step-daughter Erin Logan of Anderson of California. One brother Richard Amspoker and wife Juli of Dallas, Texas. One granddaughter Bethany Collins, two nieces Jessica Amspoker and Ashley Segura and one nephew Stephen Amspoker all of Dallas, Texas. As well as many, many wonderful and beloved friends.

In lieu of flowers, Carlon asked that any donations be made to the Alpine Humane Society.
