Tomas Lugo Blanco, 94, of Marfa, passed away at his residence on Saturday, August 23, 2014.
Services will be held Friday, August 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ on the corner of N. Austin and W. Lincoln streets in Marfa. Military burial service will follow at the Merced cemetery. Pastor Jose Cordero will officiate. Alpine Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Blanco was born in Fort Stockton, Texas on September 22, 1919 to Pablo and Virginia Lugo Blanco. He was a U.S. Army veteran and had worked for the U.S. Border Patrol for many years.
He is survived by his daughters, Arlene Whitney of Fresno, California, Cori Hernandez of San Antonio, a son, Robert Blanco of San Antonio, grandchildren Gabriel Jurado, Reba Catano, Angelica Gonzalez, Nancy Blanco Vance, Naomi Valdez, Bobby Blanco, Chris Blanco, Antonio Gonzales, and Cassandra Blanco. He also leaves behind 19 great grandchildren, and 6 great, great grandchildren.
