Tomasa Tavarez

Tomasa Rios Tavarez, 78, of Alpine, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, April 23, 2013.

Visitation will be held at Geeslin Chapel from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, April 26 and Rosary service will follow at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.,Saturday, April 27 at Our Lady of Peace and burial to follow at Holy Angels cemetery. Alpine Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Tavarez was born in Terlingua, Texas on Decembe 21, 1934 to Inez and Lucia Rios. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Elizardo M. Tavarez of Alpine, sons, Elizardo Tavarz, Jr. of El Paso, Luis Tavarez of Phoenix, Arizona, a sister, Elena Fierro of Alpine, brothers, Inez Rios of Alpine, Urbano Rios of Midland, four grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
